News: WFAN Goes Bananas

Next Thursday, WFAN’s Mike Francesca and Chris Russo will sit in for Tom McCarthy and Howie Rose during the station’s broadcast of the Mets and Phillies…

Following the game, Mets COO Jeff Wilpon and Exec. VP Dave Howard will then sit in for Francesca and Russo at WFAN, along with Ed Coleman, after the game to critique Mike and the Maddog’s performance, take calls from fans and discuss the state of the team…

In connection with the appearances, the duo will be auctioning off a visit to their broadcast booth to help raise money for a local Queens charity…

Morning Papers: Are you an optimist or a pessimist?

At Mets.com, Joe DiGiovanni writes about yesterday’s 6-5 extra inning loss to the Milwaukee Brewers.  The Mets dropped two of three to the Brew Crew.


…i like the way digiovanni puts the opening of his column…


…i’m an optimist and i like how the mets battled back.  however, i’m also a realist and can’t help but feel that when you leave 13 runners on base and go 3-for-15 with runners in scoring position, that’s a problem…


…i guess you can file this under “slump” for the first time this season.  but, let’s not p-a-n-i-c yet, ok?…
