…earlier in the year, the metsblog bullpen chimed in on whether or not it was possible that mets fans would boo David Wright under any circumstance…i’m sorry to report that most of us have already been proven wrong…
…a slump is a normal part of every player’s season and can
strike at any time, including at the beginning of the year…i’ve attended 5 home games so far and the boos for wright were real and grew louder by the strikeout…i don’t understand how someone can consider themselves a fan when they are booing a key player on the team they say they support…these must be the same fair-weather fans that booed Carlos Beltran in 2005, now they cheer him but they’re not fooling me…even when they cheered wright’s first home run last night…
…even before yesterday’s game Mike Jacobs was telling mets fans not to boo and allow wright to come out of his slump naturally which he will obviously do if he hasn’t already…if jacobs noticed it, wright definitely has…
…let’s not become like the yankees “fans” who booed A-Rod and now revere him…the first month of the season is over and there are at least five months to go so if you booed Wright in April, you have no right to cheer him in May and beyond…
…in addition i can’t stand the “select dental” commercial that airs nonstop on metro new york tv…
