The Mets (62–48) lost to the Cubs (58–51) by the score of 6 to 2 in Wrigley Field this afternoon.

…well, John Maine was looking great, cruising along, but the ump blew a call at first, the inning should have been over, maine lost his cool, and a hell broke loose…i mean, aside from two solo home runs by Moises Alou, that was essentially the ball game…
…the Mets did leave seven runners on base, so it’s hard to totally blame the umpire, and maine had plenty of opportunities to get it together and end the inning after the blown call, and i love to comment on Ted Lilly, and the catch by Damion Easley, but i can’t shake the idea of what this game could have been, but wasn’t…thanks, blue…
…so much for momentum…ugh…win series, right…so, go back at it tomorrow and move on, i guess…

…the host either is a Mets fan, or i’m about to be ambushed by the Braves…wish me luck…
…Update…10:50 am…
…no worries, no anti-Mets slant…phew…hosts were good guys, and may have actually been Mets fans…
Yesterday, Mets GM Omar Minaya told reporters that Carlos Beltran may not return from the disabled list on Thursday, as he continues to rest his strained oblique.
…gee, what a shock…the thing is, from what i understand, it’s a painful injury that when you think it is healed, when you try to give 100 percent, you realize it is not even close…which, for beltran, is a recipe for disaster…
Paul Lo Duca missed his fifth straight game yesterday with a sore right hamstring.
…if lo duca does not start today, a day game after a night game in place of Ramon Castro, i suspect we’ll start hearing more about the disabled list…
Moises Alou was scratched from yesterday’s lineup, after injuring his hand and forearm while jumping for a ball against the outfield wall in Milwaukee.
…from what i can gather, alou was initially in the lineup, he whinced, willie confronted him on it, gave him the option to sit, alou thought about for a while, then accepted…
He hit as a pinch hitter later in the game.
…i would assume he’ll play today…
Julie, the Chicago Mets Fan, is organizing a Mets-fan meet up prior to today’s game at Wrigley Field.
If you’re interested, meet Julie and other fans at Merkle’s Bar, located directly across from Wrigley.
…good luck, and i wish i could be there…
