At his blog for the Journal News, John Delcos reports that Orlando Hernandez is once again complaining about his sore foot, the same injury that forced him to miss a turn in the rotation last week.

…i wish i could be surprised, but i am not

Delcos also gives updates on Ramon Castro, and Luis Castillo, who will not play tonight because of a sore knee.

El Duque doesn’t care right now. The division seems wrapped up, the rotation is fine now with Pedro back he’ll be back in the last week of the season and he could possibly end up in the pen because of this in the postseason

I almost wouldnt mind that. El Duque seems clutch enough to come out of the pen to get some outs, but it would have been tough to make him do that because of the season he has had. I also dont see how you can tell Perez or Maine that they dont have a playoff rotation spot when they have lead the team in wins, when our season depended on those 2 arms. The reason I like El duque better in the pen is because we know what he will give us out of the pen and we know what he will give us starting. We have a pretty good idea of what to expect from Maine and Perez in the rotation, but we really have no idea about them coming in on relief duty. I dont know about everyone else, but october is not the time to find out IMO.

Yeah, shut him down for this next week or so. Hopefully he can maybe get one start in before the playoffs start though.
