You often hear announcers talking about players you hate when they're on another team but love on your team (Dykstra, Rose, Wagner, LoDuca, Clemens, etc).

Reading Wright's quotes puts him in the other category-guys you like no matter what team they're on. Biggio, Gwynn, Ripken, guys like that.

I think Wright's position is perfect. The Phillies had every right to celebrate the way they did after that sweep and you know the Mets would have done the same thing had the positions in the standings been reversed. This is why Wright is cut out to be the captain and should one day be chosen for that honor. He doesn't always say interesting things, but he's always generous, gracious, tactful and pretty much wright on.

I'm absolutely fine with any team doing anything after a walkoff, and never indicated I don't. I also like that it pisses my team off, and hopefully that will inspire them to lash out at your team next time they meet (see the results of the last sweep ya'll had this year!!)

Not much I can say except to the Victor go the Spoils. You win the game, you can pretty much do what you want.

It's just funny that the sweep was such a turning point in the season of both teams...the Mets came alive afterward, while the Phillies realized that they had just experienced their high point, and came crashing back to earth.

Don't see why a veteran guy gets to celebrate if the premise stated by Wagner and seconded by Metsblog is correct, "You win with class."

You're fine with LoDuca's bat flip, then you should be fine with the Phillies doing what every team does when they get a 'walkoff ' win.

the only one I have an issue with is Lo Duca's bat flip. That was not just a solo HR. It was a back to back to back, off a hot shot young guy, by a veteran .. he gets a bat flip there. The way Howard poses for 30 seconds to watch every one of his shots makes that one a wash.
