Although right now, I don't think it really matters, since they appear to be heading for a choke of epic proportions.

Mota and Sele have proven they don't belong in the pen, so might as well take a chance.

You can't fault them for this one. WHy in gods name would we put in pelf or humber in the pen when they have not done it in their careers to this point. We are talkiing playoffs people. this is not the time to experiment. while i can not deny that mota in particular makes me nervous, i cannot say i would feel better with joe smith, pelfrey, collazo, or humber.

id guess that the rotation goes to 4 guys;

Glavine
Pedro
Duque and
Perez.

Maine goes to the pen with sosa, wagner, heilman, feliciano shoe, and mota

11 pitchers and 14 position players.

sele does not make it and other than mota...who should be dropped from the pen?

I don't really get it.. They have 2 young pitchers that they have been grooming for quite a while. Pelfrey obviously has a lot more ML experience. You would think the reason that Lawrence is pitching tonight is because they are getting Pelfrey BP experience to see if he can handle it for the playoffs, since our "pro bullpen" for the most part isn't too good, to be kind. But now, Willie has said that Lawrence is starting because he is more in the rotation or something like that (in Willie talk, he is older with more experience and paid his dues). What I don't see is the backup plan. If El Duque can't pitch in the playoffs and Pedro can start, then we are looking at Glavine, Pedro, Maine and Perez as starters and Wagner, Heiman, Shoenweis, Mota, Sosa, Feliciano and Sele? Gee, there are 3 names on that list (Mota, Sele and Shoenweis) that I have nearly no confidence in and another 2 (Sosa and Heilman) that I certainly don't feel that I can count on in the clutch (although they have had some great moments). I understand that no one is too crazy about putting young nervous kids into a tough playoff situation, I would probably be less nervous with Pelfrey, Humber and Smith than Mota, Shoenweis and Sele (or at least some mix and match of those names)..

screw that. an unknown pelf or humber is better then a "KNOWN" Mota! now all we could pray for his smith taking a spot and one of perez or maine takes another one so mota and sele can possibly both be gone :(

let me tell u this if i was humber or pelfrey i would be pissed because what is the point of bringing us up if your not going to use use especially when you dont have much better options in the bp right now and they could of contributed in the minors for NO.
