…the increase in comments and angry language have tripped my site’s SPAM Blocker in to full gear, and it is wisely
yanking comments left and right that should not necessarily be flagged…when this happens, your post will not appear…
…please, Do Not keep posting your comment over and over again…the SPAM Blocker learns, and when you do this it starts to recognize you as a repeat offender, which gets you on some sort of automated blacklist, which i have no control over…
…every hour or so i will be checking the hold bin, and i promise to release your comment back to the site if deemed appropriate…

That’s actually really funny. The Mets play even has computers going haywire!!
Matt, how come some of my more “racy” comments get through and some of my more passive, yet longer comments go missing?
I don’t know.
I’m trying to figure it out. Again, I think it’s because when your past posts got held up, as so many others have, as well, you kept posting the same thing over and over and over again, and so it now thinks you are spamming the site.
I’m working on it.
Actually, if you try to repost the same exact thing, you get an error message saying that you have already posted that.
I know. But, in my admin, it appears every time you posted it.
Last night about 3-4 of my posts disappeared into a black hole otherwise known as Metsblog. They were angry posts but not racy or rude. It was like trying to scream but realizing you have no voice, after a while I gave up and went to bed.
There were also posts that were kind, sweet and polite, containing no need for concern, and those were held up, as well.
i guess this is what happens when classless, ignorant posters come out of the shadows to slam the team with attacks about their personal life or intelligence.
you’d think people would take the lead of the matt’s blog and act civil. this is matt’s business. why would people put the reputation of his business in jeopardy by posting threat or inappropriate language? he’s at a point that he’s interviewing omar.
and you call willie “dumb” and “moron”
I’ve had posts held up and have not used any “racy” language. It’s just an overinclusive SPAM filter. No biggie.
Amazing, see what these Mets do to us? It’s crazy how this team can make people go so damn crazy that we actually screw up this wonderful website. But I have to admit, I’m feeling just as crazy these days. Not sure I can take much more of this heartbreak!
Matt, perhaps there are toggles in the SPAM filter you can adjust to be more lenient, or exclude only some particular words? Or perhaps the web host can remove the current spam filter and install one with more options?
Disallowing the F-word, or other “abusive” curse words is one thing, excluding the use of “friggin” is just silly.
Sure, this isn’t a democracy and it’s your blog, and we all acknowledge that. But metsblog is the de facto location for Mets fans to go and have their voices heard. I think that brings some responsibility along with it, aside from just “that’s how it is” or “the SPAM filter is doing it’s job”.
If we are re-posting it’s because we are confused about how the new system is working.
Just my two cents.
According to the Elias Sports Bureau, if the Mets blow what was a seven-game lead with 17 games to go, it would be unprecedented – no team has ever been up seven with 17 to play and not captured the division or league.

Don’t worry it won’t happen, see that is what having faith in your team sounds like…..
LOL, great graphic Matt. Good to see you’ve maintained your sense of humor.
