…this photo of Jose Reyes, from the New York Times, reminds me of when Superman is forced to wear Kryptonite and loses all of his powers and falls to his knees in total weakness, which is exactly what seems to have happened to this team over the last few days…

The little “I Live for This” logo on the base is contradicted by everything about Reyes in that picture.
Reyes is the one big catalyst for this team and right now he is in such a funk that I believe the saying “As Reyes goes, the Mets go” is very true. I know he can regain his old spunk (at least I am hoping) and maybe that will help turn this around. Batting slump is expected with anyone but his mental errors are too frequent lately. We need him to regain his pre-ASB fire.

Firing Willie at this point will accomplish nothing. But, as manager, he is responsible to find out what is wrong with the team and try to right it. And he does NOT have to wear this on his sleeve for the press or anyone else. Its between him and the team. Omar should make a decision about Willie once the season is over. But definitely not now.
