We reflect the play of our team. If the Mets show some fight, so will the fans. Mets fans want to cheer, they want to be supportive--they got pretty loud when we went up 4-0 and 6-2 against the Nats. But the Mets took the air out of the baloon. We love the team too much to not have their struggles affect our attitude. They worry, we worry. They doubt, we doubt. They show some heart, I guarantee you, so will they. But, after all this, to expect Mets fans just to go out and get wild and crazy, blind to what's happened over the past two weeks, is unrealistic, and unfair to the fans and what makes them fans. As I said earlier, fans are not cheerleaders, they are fans. We reflect the play of our team. If the Mets show some fight, so will the fans. As a fan, I live and die with this team, but I feel like I show more emotion than the players do. I get more upset when they lost then most of the players. As a fan, thats frustrating. Last night may have done more to take me out of it than anything. You want me to cheer? Give me something to cheer about, and I'll yell and scream until my voice goes out. I'm sitting here at work in Mets jersey, desperate for something to cheer about. But if the Mets dont want to get it up, why should I? I’m drained.
