…well, hello, Mets, welcome back…where has this team been for the last two weeks…amazing…

…the game ball goes to John Maine, who carried a no-hitter through two outs in the seventh…the one hit came at the feet of David Wright, who charged hard towards the plate on a dribbler from Paul Hoover, but the ball died, and wright had no play…there was nothing he could do…ugh…but, an amazing job by maine, who had his fastball up for swings and misses, his slider down, and he basically total command of every pitch he threw, as he struck out 14 batters and walked just one…outstanding…a brilliant day, buddy…thank you…

…i love when there is so much offense i end up not having enough space to right about it…basically, the Mets hit…they hit every thing…Lastings Milledge hit two home runs, and started two other rallies, and i can’t wait too watch this kid play on a regular basis…who knows when that will be, but i look forward to whenever it happens…he’s nothing if he isn’t exciting…

Jose Reyes has been totally lost…he looked off at the plate again, and did not run out a chopper, which he got out on, standing at home watching it all play out in front of him…disturbing…i just don’t know what to make of him…i’m trying not to think about it, frankly…later in the game, he certainly came alive, to say the least…

…the benches cleared after Harvey García threw a pitch behind Luis Castillo, who eventually walked…Rick Peterson was pissed…it was a mild scrum at home plate, but no real threat of a fight…however, garcia was removed from the game, and as he walked from the mound to the boos of the crowd, reyes gestured over to the the mound, either at garcia or his catcher, Miguel Olivo, who then charged at reyes like a bull…olivo, in his catcher’s gear, took a swing at reyes, hit Sandy Alomar Jr., and it was on…the benches cleared, small fights broke out, a giant scrum got started in front of the Marlins dugout, and all hell broke loose…reyes was furious, being held back by several teammates, and by the time the field cleared, the crowd was singing Jose, Jose, Jose…hopefully, this will wake him up…

…today, in a way, i think, was a bit cathartic for these guys…they let loose…emotionally and physically, and good things happened…it wasn’t a perfect game, but it was the game we have all been waiting to see for weeks…hopefully, it’s not too little too late…

…either way, tomorrow matters…and that’s all the Mets can ask for at this point…go Nationals
