we all know dontrelle will go out and pitch a gem, but we gotta get some runs, 2-3 runs so glavine can hold down the fort.

Not everyone thought that the division should be wrapped up by May 15th, but with the lead we enjoyed for the ENTIRE season, it is inexcusable that we are here on the last day of the season absolutely needing to win to even be included in the playoff scenario.

Say whatever you want, but this is a pennant race that we have no reason to be sweating through. For all intents and purposes, this division should have been wrapped up a long time ago.

So while you have to play the cards you are dealt, please don't act like nobody can handle a pennant race because they are upset over being in this position. They have every right to be upset about it. The Mets collapsed, (we'll see if that collapse is complete today), and no one should be happy about it.

its not about being mightier than though. its about realizing its baseball. stuff happens. weird stuff happens all the time.

i can say without a doubt that every time i go to a ballgame i see something i have never seen before. with that said, if anything can happen, especially in a small sample size, why not be optimistic, especially after one can accurately assess somewhat the talent level of their team. its not to say they will win, its to say they have a chance, and that is a really great thing. they might lose tomorrow, but at least they have a chance.

As a technicality, I'm pretty sure that Dontrelle Willis has not started 5 of the 8 games the Mets and Marlins have played at Shea this season.

As a Mets fan I have been disgusted by the play of this team the last few weeks. I watch the game and switch channel and always flick it back to check the score from time to time. What bothers me the most is the expectations that may have been lost. After that loss in game 7 I felt that 2007 was our year and we would win hands down. Well 2007 has not been fun. We never won more than 5 games in a row and had two major melt downs with the most recent being the worst. I have not had the faith in the team that I had in 2006 and our pen has let us down. Through all of this I truly though we would win on Friday and when we lost and the Phillies won and the Padres won I though ti was over, I was wrong. After the game today I am 100% sure that we will win!!! Dontrail Willis is 5-0 at Shea this year and now is the perfect time to change that to 5-1. I would like to see the Phillies loose, but, I think this team would greatly benefit from going to Philly and beating them good. Get the monkey off their back and proove once and for all who the team to beat really is in the NL East.!! Eaither way the METS WILL WIN!!!! It can end any other way. LETS GO METS !!!!!!

Congratulations. You are a true blue Mets fan. So much better than those who have been devastated by this historic choke job and use this forum to vent their frustration and doubt.

Why don't you chill on the Metier Than Thou routine and let folks be. I have not been ragingly negative, but I totally understand those who have been over the past few weeks. They have been tearing the hearts out of our chest, and it hurts.

Still, everyone on this blog has enough passion for the Mets to BE ON THIS BLOG. We're all here because we are die hard fans. If it makes you feel better to think you're a better fan because you never lost faith, good for you.

Let's Go Mets.
