Marlins SS Hanley Ramirez, following this afternoon’s game, as quoted by John Delcos of the Journal News:

“I don’t care if it’s broke (his hand). I’m gonna play tomorrow. ______ everybody on the Mets. I’m going to kick their ____ tomorrow.”

…he forgot to say, ‘whatcha gonna do, brother’…laughable…

glavine should give him one of those 82mph heaters up and in for mouthing off like that

Instead of mouthing off, he should be taking extra fielding practice. Stupid kid. Too bad Pedro wasn’t pitching. He’d throw at his hands and knock him out of the game.

What does he have to be pissed off about? Besides the Marlins season?

He got “hit” on the hand by John Maine during the game.

He must not understand baseball then. Why would Maine hit a guy up 1-2 in the 4th inning of a no-hitter?

A good free for all would alleviate any tightness the Mets might feel tomorrow. However it must not be started by Milledge whose reputation would be further damaged if he precipitated a brawl and who Wilpon would like to personally drive to the airport after LM is traded for a class A pitcher with a 84 mph fastball. :)

The last 2 well pitched games have been caught by Castro. Willie if there is a brain in your gut you must start Castro. Randolph can no longer worry whether or not he has offended a veteran. Let PLD brood while the Mets celebrate a victory. Omar should make it clear that Willie is managing tomorrow’s game for his job.

cause its the right thing to do, guys. you see how bad and damaging it was when all torre did was move arod down in the order? benching your starting catcher in the biggest game of the year is a really tough call.

I would agree with you if the catcher was I-Rod or Posada among others. But PLD is not hitting (except for GIDP), has marginal power, is injured, can’t throw to 2nd and calls a mediocre game. Now we are not talking about benching an impact player like Beltran or Wright we are taking about PLD. He won’t even be back next year.

The player that gives you the best chance of winning should be playing and right now that is Castro. BTW LM has got to start over Gomez in right tomorrow.

Don’t ever compare A-Rod to PLD. They are not even in the same stratosphere. A-Rod, even in a slump, is the best player in baseball. I like PLD but he is a very limited player.

i dont get it. why do so many people hate the mets? delgado is some kind of jerk? yeah that guy castillo, hes a major punk. and can carlos beltran shut up for two seconds . that guy is constantly running his mouth. and dont get me on david wright and how he is always saying the wrong thing.

what?! it makes no sense that these teams hate the mets so much. its not like we are the braves and its been 14 straight divisions or something. weird.

1. The Mets are from New York and everybody out of town seems to hate New York.

2. People seem to think they have a payroll like the Yankees.

3. The Mets were declared the best in the NL before the season started.

4. Teams from out of town seem to look at the Mets and group them in with the Yankees.

Actually the Mets seem to be a very personable team and I wish they had a nasty streak in them.

3 is actually untrue . there were a ton of outlets that thought that other teams were better than the mets. they have no reason to care what the media says.

Umm I think his anger may have something to do with the brawl today… And it’s not a good sign for the Mets.

Clearly they’ve motivated the Marlins & made their task much more difficult for tomorrow. There is no way in hell the fish are gonna roll over now…

I believe it has to do a lot with Jose reyes. Hanley and Jimmy always want to make a statement against the mets showing they are they better player.

Comment by ghobot
2007-09-30 02:21:59

so wait, hanley ramirez cares that jose reyes gets attention? so hes gonna play so hard and well so that jon kruk on baseball tonight calls him the most exciting player in the game. . .

if a tree falls in a forest and no one is around . . .you are hanley ramirez.

How confident does everyone feel about tomorrow? Other than this season, the D-Train has had our number. This game is going to be 3-3 after 7 innings and its going to come down to the bullpen i’m guessing. GO METS!!

The Mets have handled him just fine this season…more in the preGame tomorrow. Remember, we have Alou, Wright, Reyes, Beltran, Castillo, most likely Castro and hopefully Milledge, all batting from the right side of the plate. Righties hit Dontrelle hard. Keep the faith!

i will repeat this again, but you should have seen dontrelle dancing on the mound when the marlins won on friday. it was absurd.

Bottom line is, tomorow the Mets need to pretend it’s World Series Game 7 and somehow a last place team is the oponent…

The Mets have to be like a hungry lion let loose into the cage of a starving rabbit tomorow or else.

i love sny’s booth but they seemed to forget this is what precipitated throwing at castillo…of course it doesnt make sense since maine had a no-no going and hanley actually dove into the pitch, but still, clearly hanley geting hit is what made the marlins throw at the mets…

by the way he can play for my team any day with those comments…love to hear stuff like that
