The game has been scheduled for 1 pm.
…nice move, Phillies…it was advertised that tickets would go on sale at 11 am…then, suddenly, the gates are open at 10 am…very sneaky…well done…

MLB has announced on ESPN radio that Play-in game if played in Philadelphia will be 1:05 pm.
Other scheduled to be announced as the day goes on.

Wow. I went to college in Philly for 4 years & went to nearly every Met/Philly game and have never seen anything quite like that. Granted, I’d end up moving my seats around to sit with other groups of Met fans so as to form a bit more of a presence, but still… Usually Philly security acts a lil quicker too & doesn’t let things escalate quite like that.
I just hope that the Met fan gets a hold of this vid and is able to use it to press charges…
From what I remember it wasn’t actually a Mets fan thing. It was a row of college kids pissing off an adult in front of them. Most Met fans wear Mets gear. I go very often to the games and fights are pretty rare. There are just too many fans of both teams around.

most one-game playoffs are day games if i recall. Especially if the pads/rockies are tied also, then whoever loses the game monday would need to travel to play the rockies/pads, so they would definitely make it a 1pm start if it ends up being a 3 or 4 way tie

Have you guys seen the multiple tie breaking games that could still be possible if a four way tie occurs after today? if mets, philly & Colorado win and Padres lose, it could be a 4 team tie and there could be mulitple games played even after the possible mets/phils matchup monday… maybe even another game at Shea to determine the wildcard if the mets lost to phily in a monday game. When would those tickets go on sale?

is it possible that the mets win the division, the padres (or the rockies) tie with the phils for the wildcard and the tickets i just bought will be used to play that run-off game? in other words, is it possible that i just bought three (nicely priced field) seats for a game that might not even involve the mets?

it won’t be known til later on. if the pads win and the mets and phils do the same thing today, then the game might be a 7 o’clock start to score some ratings, but if there’s a 3 or 4 way tie, you can bet everything you’ve got that it will be a 1 oclock start.
guys lets not get ahead of ourselves. d-train is on the mound and I really don’t want to look forward to tomorrow yet, we need to take care of business today. i know he’s had an off-year but he still seems to bring his best against us. starting now, let’s save the talk about tomorrow for later, and let’s focus on this game today for now.

I think it all depends on the tie scenario; if there’s no cross country travel involved (i.e. just 1 game for the Mets/Phils) then the game may play at night. If there is a tie for the Wild Card it could mean a trip for the loser to the West Coast which would suggest a 1:05 game tomorrow in Philadelphia.–and obviously this is speculative so what the hell do i know, right?
Lets hope the Mets can do it today. If not today, tomorrow. If not tomorrow, Tuesday.
