If we fire Randolph we better have an excellent plan B. I blame Omar for not getting the right pieces for 2007.

I’m with ya Mavi for finding some humor in all this in some really weird and twisted way. This whole season was a big dissapointment with mediocre baseball played mostly throughout. It seemed like even if we continued to play 500 ball and won the division we would have just been knocked out of the playoffs early and Minaya and the Wilpons would have sat idle next year again. At least this way we should expect some major deals happen this offseason.

What does make me incredibly upset is the fact that I now hate every NL east team as much as I hate the Braves and we werent able to shut Rollins up and make him eat his words.

I don’t think that Omar had to make any huge moves that he didn’t make. That is, the talent was in the clubhouse, they just wildly underperformed.

Some was injuries, some just seemed mental. But if a couple of guys held it together better, this bunch could easily have won 93+ games, and the division. And we aren’t having this discussion.

A perfect team? No, but still a good one, and they can be good next year, and still have a reasonable collection of prospects to use or trade.
