Thanks Matt for giving a long, suffering Mets fan a site that would provide all different views, comments and ideas. Get your rest and come back when the Hot Stove starts. Never will root for Phillies, our new arch enemy alongside the Bravos.

man, tony clark is the clean-up hitter for the diamondbacks, the best team in the NL, now that's just sad.

I realized something this year. I am too emotionally attached to this team. My mood on any given day during the summer is very often dictated by the state of the Mets, and more specifically, whether they won the night before or not. About half-way through our 2 week slide in September I just started to detach myself emotionally from it all. Otherwise I would have been borderline-clinically depressed. It's not worth it anymore for me, man. Of course I will always be a Met fan for life, but going forward, I am going to take a step back and detach myself a little. I don't necessarily have to watch every single game. I don't even necessarily have to check the boxscore before going to sleep. I think we've established that this team will never be a juggernaut, and in fact will be maddeningly inconsistent most years, and it's not worth becoming a miserable troll in front of your friends because of a game. Just had to get that out.

TIME TO MOVE ON!!!!!

I know most of you are still depressed as well as I am. So, my bar is throwing a Jets v. Giants meetup on Sunday for the game. This is the 1st time we are trying this. We are attempting to setup a home away from the Meadowlands to watch the games. The bar is called Butterfield 8.

It is located on 38th St between 5th and Madison Ave.

The special for the game is $25 all you can drink Bud and Bud light draft and all you can eat wings for the duration of the game.

A post has already been set up on www.thejetsblog.com. The website for the bar is www.butterfield8nyc.com - check it out, it's a really nice place. Also I will be bartending this for the game.

I hope you all can come out.
