I agree 100%. Winning is the bottom line. But....i think i'm focusing a different issue here. The media in NY hasa double standard when evaluating the performances of the Yankees and Mets. The Yankees have been knocked out of the playoffs the last 5 years. Not 2 or 3 years. 5 years in a row !!!!!! In 2004 they had an historical collapse against the Red Sox when they blew a 3 games to none lead. It never happened in the history of baseball before. Where were the headlines calling the Yankees "chokers". After getting knocked out of the playoffs 5 consecutive years...iu didn't see any headlines calling the Yankees "Disgraceful" Why? Why the free ride? Because the media (sports writers and talk show hosts) are overwhelmingly Yankee fans. Even when the Mets win ....the media spins it negatively. For example...the 1986 world series championship is presented as the Red Sox having blown it rather than a Mets come back. (there are MANY other examples...i'm sure you can all come up with some) And ...you're right .....it's not going to change.....but...at least the Mets should use SNY as platform for the Mets perspective.
