Firstly, I completely disagree with your assessment that Peterson did well. I really don't think that he has anything to be proud of concerning his "contribution" to the "success" of this team.

Secondly, OMAR did not make this team worth rooting for again...in that, I guess you are meaning to imply that the Valentine Mets were not worth rooting for. Do you think that this team was a nothing team before OMAR? I strongly disagree, at least with Phillips and Valentine we got into the WS.

Building a dynasty? You have read too much Mets propaganda? The team actually got weaker this year from the last year. Quite frankly, I am a little annoyed, and wish he would stop his obvious "social experiment" of trying to put together an "all hispanic" Mets team, and concentrate on putting together a quality team that is competitive. I think that he is totally blind sighted by his personal endeavors and has made a lot of very bad decisions because of this.

We do agree about one thing, your "imagine what he might do this year" statement scares the hell out of a lot of Met fans.

let me see.....Omar dumped down because he did not like the "approach" of the met hitters. my, my. how does he feel about the fact that the entire ptiching staff went into the tank for the last month of the season? that is forgivable but a dissatisfaction with the approach is not? the more I think about it the more I am coming to realize that Omar is a giant hypocrite. I trust him less and less each day.

My best guess, is Willie chose to keep Peterson. Besides, this is "buzz" not an actual "news". Peterson did well, Omar took Petersons abilities a little for granted, and put a pitching staff together that couldn't deal with the work load. It's baseball, it's all just a gamble, and this year, Omar's gamble didn't pay out. Omar has made this team worth rooting for again.
He tried to do better last off season, (51 million for DiceK?) but he just couldn't over do it because he was trying to make the team better. Look at the Giants, they won the Zito sweepstakes, how good were they? Omar will do his best, but he's not doing what all the GM's of Mets History have done, he's not BUYING a team, he's BUILDING a dynasty. Last year, didn't work out, imagine what he might do this year!! Santana maybe, or more likely, someone nobody is planning on.

Oh, somebody will pay...us the fans...its our money that we keep throwing at them.

Of the 3, I find that Peterson is most responsible. He simply should go.

But management will throw smoke and mirrors to the fans, they will fire the bat boy, the loge vendors, and two execs from the money room, as well as the first and 3rd base coaches. Basically, they are willing to let anybody go who has nothing to do with the real collapse of this team.

Typical Management...and we wonder why this team does not get too far?

I'm fine with that. I'm not particularly in love with any young talent we have. They can all be moved in the right deal, in my opinion. And I'm up for sending Delgado to texas in a package with prospects like gomez or milledge for Kinsler. Corner outfielders with pop are the easiest commodity to come by via trade or free agency.

Yeah you're right, we should think positive! That will solve the problem.

Remember: "It is only to the Optimist that the Realist is a Pessimist!"
