Oh, and (3) Given the fact that Willie will be on a short leash whether Jaramillo is here or not ……doesn’t it make sense to have a replacement ready in the wings than not???!

I don;t get the complaint that Willie would feel more pressure if you bring Jaramillo in. (1) Willie has to know he is under the most serious pressure already and (2) competition and pressure can be a very healthy thing.

The Mets hit fine with HoJo. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it. What they didn’t do well was: pitch, field or at times hustle. That is what the “organization” needs to address.

i disagree strongly. i think a hiting coach is a very important piece of the hitting puzzle, and i have learned that from experience. there are so many little things that a hitter can be doing wrong that a good hitting coach will pick up. and from everything ive heard, jaramillo is just that: a great hitting coach. just ask A-Rod who loves the guy… and hey, some people on this site thought the mets had a shot at him already, just imagine how interesting things would get if the mets hired jaramillo after possibly seeing the yanks bow out in the first round again…..

If memory serves me correctly, Jaramillo was the guy they almost went with instead of Randolph. I don’t know a lot about him but have heard that he is very popular with players. He also is very good at mentoring young guys (even though I’m a Hojo fan). Hojo goes to first, bring Rudy in and let the Joker (Rickey Henderson) find another team to play cards with.

Another Latin Guy from Omar’s good old boy network that Omar is going to force onto Willie! Omar should be out himself- all of this coupled with the horrific job he’s done making trades the past 12 months…he has just killed us. And how does that clown Bernazard still have a job??
