Haha that is the funniest lineup post ever.

So basically this genius thinks its the same bunch of unmotivated, old and crumbling guys....but then we stick an unprove Japanese nobody and weaker hitting catcher at the bottom.

Great plan! This way...we won't even be able to choke away the divsion...because will be in 3rd place by September 2008.

You can't bank on Alou too much. You need another slugger, and get Delgado out of the middle of the lineup. He stinks and kills every rally. He belongs in the 7 spot next year. Yes....bat him 7th. No higher. Delgado's career is over.

http://www.armchairgm.com/index.php?title=Kosuke_Fukudome

"Fukudome has doubles-power and will likely put up a high OBP in the Majors, but won't slug a lot of home runs.[12] Defensively, he's best suited for right field, but could plug into center if need be.[13] Mike Plugh, of Baseball Prospectus, says that "Fukudome is tailor-made for the Major Leagues. [...] He has patience as well as power to the gaps, a recipe for success, especially if he chooses to play in a ballpark with a spacious outfield." Plugh warns that Fukudome won't hit more than 20 homers, "but 50 doubles is not out of the question[, and] when compared to his [Japanese] peers, [...] his habitual .400+ OBP."[14]

One projection system estimates that a 2007 version of Fukudome would put up a .300/.375/.500 line in the Majors.[15] "

Ramon Hernandez has a clause that prevents him from going to a NY team. He doesn't want to be here or the Bronx. He's not coming. He's a bum anyway. Bring back Lo Duca. He wants to be back, knows everyone, and has passion unlike half the team.

but he's not terrible, either. I agree that offense from C is gravy, and if we could get a younger, cheaper guy who fits your description, I'm all for it. I like Castro there, and if he eventually is platooned with PLD, I don't think it's the worst thing in the world.

We don't need an Ichiro or Hideki...We just need a corner outfielder who is good defensively and can get on base, I don't think we need a guy in right who is going to carry the team.

would like to see them inquire about Miguel Tejada to play 2b. he obviously cannot play SS anymore, and he would be a welcomed #5 hitter.
