Throughout the year, Mets Walk-Offs And Other Minutiae has put together lists titled: The Best Games I Know. Each list contains the best games in Mets history, usually against a specific opponent, but this time the list contains the best games of 2007.
…the list is spot on in my opinion and i highly recommend you check out the other lists in the series, which you can read by clicking here…
Tagged Mike Nichols |Over at the Mets Minor League Report, Toby Hyde recaps the recent Eastern League prospect list from John Manuel of Baseball America, which has Mets OF prospect Fernando Martinez listed as number three.
Martinez batted .271 with 4 HR and 21 RBIs in 236 at-bats with Double-A Binghamton this season.

Tagged Mike Nichols, Minors |Matt Michael of The Post-Standard reports on a possible plan by the Syracuse Chiefs to become the Mets Triple-A affiliate after the 2008 season.
According to Michael, the Chiefs, who are the current Triple-A Affiliate for the Blue Jays, are looking to lure a new team and the their number one choice is the Mets, due to the Mets significant fan base in Central New York.
Back in September, MetsBlog relayed a local a television report that suggested the Chiefs were to begin the transition from Astro Turf to natural grass at Alliance Bank Stadium.
According to Michael, the transition to the new grass field should be completed by the end of the month, but the team will need to do more than add a grass field to land the Mets.
Since Major League and Triple-A teams are not permitted to negotiate until next September, Michael presents a three-point plan for the Chiefs, which includes having the team’s stockholders let the Mets know of their desires, having a backup plan if the team is not chosen by the Mets, and changing the team’s operations reputation.
Michael notes Syracuse will need to compete with Rochester, Indianapolis and Buffalo, as well as, New Orleans, as possible destinations for the Mets Triple-A affiliate.
…as i wrote back in september, my hope if the Mets move from nola to syracuse, as i believe their triple-a affiliate should return back to the International League where they belong…also for selfish reasons, as I would get to see them play the Phillies new triple-a affiliate, the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs…
…hat tip to tj for the link…
