” would change the walk rule because it allows the pitcher not to pitch to a potential homerun hitter. It isn’t fair for the pitcher to choose who he pitches to. ”

Wow.. I don’t think she’s cute enough to be THAT dumb.. maybe she should root for the yanks instead

    • Hit The Weights Zeile says:

yea i read that and suddenly became much less attracted to her physically.

    • amy says:

Haha as soon as I saw this girl I knew EVERY guy was gonna be talking about her… she’s a hottie but stick with BRIAN!!!
Ahhh i’m so upset I missed the deadline =T I guess next year !

  2. Joebaby says:

Candie Locklin: “I would change the walk rule because it allows the pitcher not to pitch to a potential homerun hitter. It isn’t fair for the pitcher to choose who he pitches to.”

That has to be the all-time dumbest statement ever made by a fan.

  3. The Stache says:

Stop being so picky… she looks like that and loves baseball. Enough said.

  4. Joebaby says:

As long as she never opens her mouth except to say things like ‘I want you, Joe’. She can sit next to me at a game anytime.

    • Hit The Weights Zeile says:

as long as she never opens her mouth unless to ask you what you want on your sandwhich, or to tell you that your laundry is done.

      • sillyc14 says:

So, do you get rug burn on your knuckles from dragging them across the floor all day?

        • Hit The Weights Zeile says:

wow didnt know misogynyst jokes were so frowned upon on a sports blog….get off your high horse and grow a sense of humor bro

        • sillyc14 says:

Sorry, “bro.” You’re totally right. I forgot how fun it is to joke about how women are sandwich-making machines who love to do laundry. Hilarious! Thank you for teaching me how to laugh again.

        • Hit The Weights Zeile says:

well you got sarcasm going for you so thats good.

        • franco45 says:

Sillyc14, what’s the big deal if a woman likes to make sandwiches and do laundry? Is that such an awful life-choice that it’s OK for you to look down upon it?

        • sillyc14 says:

No. The issue is not with anyone’s life-choice. The issue is with someone saying that he doesn’t want a woman to speak unless it’s about his sandwich preferences or laundry.

Not to get all deep/political on metsblog, but it’s kind of craptastic to go onto my favorite blog and see this kind of offensive stuff.

        • Hit The Weights Zeile says:

did you react like this when keith hernandez commented on a woman being in the dugout for the padres? bc he was serious, and i was joking.

        • sillyc14 says:

Yeah, I was pretty offended when Keith said that.

I didn’t mean to start any kind of row here. As a female sports fan, I get a lot of garbage from people. It just sucks to read stuff like this on metsblog, even if it’s a supposedly a joke. That’s all. Do you not see how that is an offensive thing to say?

        • Hit The Weights Zeile says:

if its said maliciously yes it is offensive. but honestly no i cant see how a joke can be offensive when it is directed at someone else. the girl in this poll is clearly not a knowledgable fan. “the walk rule” what the hell does that mean? if she said something intelligent like “i hate the DH” or “balks arent called often enough” obviously the comment wouldnt have been made and we’d instead be singer her praises for baseball knowledge as opposed to being just eye candy. so as a female sports fan that visits metsblog i would expect you to be smarter than this girl and therefore the comment wouldnt be directed at you.

        • sillyc14 says:

No, it’s not the jokes about her being dumb. The girl clearly has special needs. That might have been the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard anyone say about baseball. It did not even make a modicum of sense. It’s not even about her being just eye candy. I didn’t take offense to any of that.

It was just the shut your mouth unless you’re cooking me dinner thing. Regardless of whether or not you directed it at me, it’s still offensive. When you say a sexist thing to/about one woman, it’s like insulting all women. Calling her dumb is not sexist. Saying that she should shut her mouth unless she’s talking about sandwiches is.

        • Hit The Weights Zeile says:

well im sorry you feel that way bc i totally disagree. when people make fun of people that are similar to me but not the same i usually couldnt care less. which is why i didnt take offense to the knuckle dragger comment bc i know that (while directed at me) couldnt be farther from an accurate description of my personality so like i said before, lighten up.

        • sillyc14 says:

I’ll do my best to not take offense to misogynstic remarks. Thanks for the concern.

        • Hit The Weights Zeile says:

there you go, and i accept your apology for calling me a knuckle dragger.

      • nymets211 says:

hahah… is this keith hernandez?? glad to see you voice your opinion on metsblog buddy

  5. mrose says:

    yikes..

    Full count, lights out!
    Houston Astros withoutta doubt!!!

    wow..
    hooooooooooot though

  6. cousinrk says:

Dude, she’s a smokin hot chick who loves baseball, you want to quibble with a few of her issues with the rules? It must be nice to be that picky about the women you date.

  7. 7-train says:

    I’d hit it.

  8. a says:

Am I allowed to say that Brian’s not really doing it for me?

And that Jeff Jackson kind of is?

I’ll just show myself out now.

  9. Krusty The Klown says:

    id nibble on dat candie

  10. mrosey says:

Brian, I hope all the female Mets fans vote for you, but as a man I gotta go for Candie.

  11. Andrew says:

You guys… don’t neglect hot-ass Sarah Henneke. And her rule change: “Pitchers would be allowed to brush batters back without being given a warning by the umpire for doing it.”

    I think I’m in love.

  12. CandieCane says:

Hello to all of you mets fans,

I want to thank all of those who voted for me! It is much appreciated. But more importantly it appears that I need to change some opinions made on this blog, such as, me being a dumb girl who knows nothing about sports!
Here’s my explanation: I submitted my answers to the questions People magazine asked and they slightly altered the wording to condense the answers. My original answer to the question was, “I would change the INTENTIONAL walk rule because…” Do you undestand where I am coming from now???

BTW I didn’t choose the DH rule because my favorite team is the Houston Astros, which is a National League team. The DH rule wouldn’t effect us until the play-offs.

    Ponder on that!

Candie – Can I have your phone number, I want to visit you. I’d love to put my “stinger” between your Killer B’s!
