On Saturday, October 20th, David Wright will be appearing at Niketown NY between 12 and 1 pm. Doors open at 10 am.
Wright will supposedly be showing off a new shoe design.
Niketown is located at 6 East 57th St. in New York.
…the offseason appearances for Wright are in full swing i see…
…hat tip to mustangmann for the info…

Would anyone else be happy to see the entire Mets organization stay underground through the end of the World Series? For a team that figured it was their right to be there this year, I’d prefer laying low to promotional appearances that should be reserved for January.
I’m not knocking Wright in particular…just don’t really like the “oh well, offseason business as usual” implication.
I totally agree. Wayyy too early for public appearances.
“Your (off)-season has come”. “The team, the time, the choke”.
I really don’t care about the appearances… I just hope that he gets himself some better looking cleats while he is in Niketown.
and some vajay jay
The Mets organization and their players have been pretty low key as is since the end of the season. Which is fine, and I think that is appropriate.
But I have no problem with Wright or any other Met making a promotional appearance now. Better now than during the season when they could get distracted or worn out by too many activities.
And Wright did a fine job down the stretch. If it was Mota or Glavine who was doing one of these appearances, I might have an issue. But I doubt anyone would want to see either of these players now. It would be great if I never have to look at Mota in a Mets uniform again.
I just hope he doesnt go crazy… it seemed like last offseason he was doing some kind of public appearance every day.
i have no issues with the man making his name… but it would be nice to see him relax a little.
Can we trade his old ugly spikes for a better reliever?
People who purchase merchandise from Niketown should be ashamed of themselves.
The Greek Goddess of victory would be really pissed if she were to see the business practices of her namesake.
I’ll get off my soapbox now.
And David, do all of the Met fans you and your teammates let down this season a favor and keep quiet until at least the WS is over. Most of us aren’t in the mood to hang out with you just yet.
It’s been almost three weeks since the season ended. And, like VCarver said, David Wright was hardly one of the reasons for the ‘collapse.’ I don’t think a one hour appearance, three weeks later should be a problem for anyone. And, I’m quite sure, plenty of people are going to be there and will most definitely be ‘in the mood to hang out with’ him.
Have a blast, dude.
I, personally, won’t be there(not quite sure where you got that from) My point was only that I’m pretty confident that your assessment of the situation was wrong.
I don’t believe that you won’t be there. You’ll probably be wearing your pink “Mr Wright” T-shirt.
And my assessment of the situation is my opinion. It is not wrong.
Maybe he can cut down on his promos this offseason and learn how to throw to 1st better instead?
Unless that Niketown has a batting cage…..perhaps he should stay home.
