Note: Dana Brand’s Met Fan
By Matthew Cerrone - Oct 23, 2007 11:54 am

towards the end of last month, Dana Brand had a Launch Party for his book, Met Fan, at a bar in New York City…a variety of my fellow bloggers were in attendance, including Kranepool, Zoe, Mike, SNK, and Coop, among others…

though i was unable to attend, please note that dana’s book is a must read, and will make a great holiday gift…it’s easy, very quick, and contains tiny essays that are equal parts nostalgia, comedy and insight…good stuff…

Matt, thank you so much for your kind words about METS FAN. I just want to mention that if people would like to have an inscribed copy, (and a free dinner) they can come to an event at Hofstra University, where I teach. On November 1 at 6:30 pm, I will be giving a reading from METS FAN in 142 Monroe Hall on the Hofstra campus in Hempstead, LI. This is free and open to the public. At 5:30 pm, there will be a reception in C.V. Starr Hall, right next to Monroe, with free food and drink. I will be able to sign books at the reception and after the talk. I will also be happy to schmooze with anyone, whether or not they buy a book! Everyone is welcome. I hope to meet some readers of Mets Blog there. Thank you!

I did a search on bn.com for the book and it came up followed by 4 other Mets books. The sixth book was “Misery”. Coincidence, I think not. :)

Metsfanatic,
Since my book is about being a Mets fan for 45 years, I have to admit that a great deal of it is about misery.
