There is a DVD set out there (Amazon has to have it) of the entire 1986 World Series plus the entire Game 6 NLCS game against Houston plus a lot of extras (Dykstra's NLCS walk off, Carter's walk off NLCS single)

Well worth the price

The issue with this list is there are different kinds of miracles. What happens within one game is so much different than what happens over the course of a series or season.

If Game 6-'86 isn't the most miraculous one in-game moment there is then I don't know what is. I mean Gibson's moment was great but the only thing that made it 'miraculous' was he was hurt.

And I agree with one poster above -- any list of baseball miracles is suspect if it leaves out the Miracle Mets.

I have no real problem with teams having very different standards about who gets their number retired and who doesn't, but I think the real head-scratcher here is Carter. I don't think anyone doubts that he'd already have his number retired if he had gone into the HOF as a Met, and that choice was a very close call by Cooperstown based largely on the fact that it might be the only chance to have anyone in there representing the Montreal franchise. It seems odd to let that decision made by someone else dictate whether we retire someone's number or not.

I can't see how the '78 Yankees or Kirk Gibson's homer rank ahead of the '86 Mets. I have no quibble with his other picks. But those two just don't seem all that miraculous to me.

The Rockies are a miracle and I hope they continue their run tonight with a win against Beckett who is showing everyone why he's one of the better postseason pitchers of his generation and that pitching is paramount in the postseason. So, please Omar, don't waste resources on A-Rod.

A 10 run inning is amazing, but I don't see how that trumps scoring 3 runs with 2 outs, in the 10th inning, down to your last strike several times over.
