In a post to Loge 13, Kingman explains why be feels Ron Swoboda’s historic catch in Game 4 of the 1969 World Series is among greatest catches in post-season history.
Kingman concludes…
“This and the Agee catch are two of the greatest postseason plays ever, not just because of the athleticism involved but because of what they meant for the game. Sorry Endy. Try again next year.”
…yes, endy, i hope you have the chance to try again next year, because it will mean things went pretty very well over the next 12 months…

Poor Endy. That’s a great catch by Swoboda, but honestly you see 2 or 3 catches as good or better every night on ESPN.
Endy’s catch is one of the most athletic feats you will ever see on a baseball diamond. If we’d won that game it would be the number 1 best catch in baseball ever. We’d be going into bars in 50 years and seeing it up on the wall the way you see Willie’s over the shoulder grab in bars today. We’d be telling our grandkids, “the craziest thing about that catch is that it was a double play.”
Im sorry Kingman but that catch doesnt even compare to Endy’s catch. Endy’s catch was game 7 and was a double play.
Read the comment above and he summs it up the best way possibe. If we win the game that catch goes down in history as the greatest catch ever
I couldn’t disagree more. Both of Agee’s catches are better than Swoboda’s, and Endy’s beats out Agee’s. The game situation of Endy’s catch was as critical as the ‘69 catches as well. Between Endy’s and Swoboda’s, there’s no contest: Endy’s!
I’m yelling Bull$hit! Endy by far, he at least doubled off the base runner. There were no walls in Swaboda’s way.
endy’s is the best catch in postseason history. as has been stated, if we win, 50 years from now every fan knows about endy’s catch.
