Let's face it, if his name was Manuel Gomez Omar would at least flirt with the idea of signing him. Same story w/ Iguchi who didn't interest our GM at all AND in fact stated " I like Castillo as a player and fit better". All Iguchi did was keep the illies afloat for a month while Utley was out. Meanwhile, players like Alou and Duque were M.I.A. during some of the most important parts of our season. I've got a bad feeling we'll be looking at about 20 MIL spent toward '08s payroll on The Rabbi in Left at 41 w/ a history of leg injuries, a fading Castillo w/ bad knees and hips, And a Catching platoon of always hurt Castro and favorite brother Javy Valentin behind the plate.
