Castillo is a sub-par second baseman at this point in his career. This is what all defensive metrics indicate, despite what the official P.R. Arm of the New York Mets wants you to believe. The draft pick we would get instead of Castillo would be a far wiser investment,

Last year we heard all this crap about Glavine really wanting to play with the braves and when they didnt offer he came back to the mets. Now its going to happen again? I would rather see him stay, but, not as a second choice. He is NOT a ace, but, would make a good 3 or 4 guy. It seems to me as a fan, that he didnt really want to be a met in the first place. He was very inconsistant and after that last game, Im not sure. I say sign him or drop him, dont let him go to other teams and come back when nobody offers him anything. That leaves a bad taste in my mouth as a fan. I wanted to see him win a WS as a met. There is not much out there and I think we should keep him, only if, he wants to stay and play here. NOT as a second chance offer or last resort. Then his heart is not really in it. Dont give me that "hes a professional" crap either. He either wnats to be a met or he dont.
