Torre won't make any difference in LA. He has never been a good manager. A good friend, maybe, but never a goood manager. Again, just because he wore pinstripes does not automatically make him god. Little and Torre have the same basic acumen, but Little cost a whole lot less $. Anyways, who cares?

I also heard that Kevin Long, the Yankees hitting coach, would follow Torre to LA.

Man, is this all happening too fast or is it just me? The World Series just wrapped up a couple of days ago and now the Yankees have a new manager, Torre goes to LA, and Donnie baseball follows. Meanwhile we're still not sure of the status of Rickey Henderson as a first base coach.

so you're saying if the Giants hire Barry Bonds to be their manager, A-Rod would probably sign with SF?

oddly enough, I think the Mets or Phillies would have put up a much better fight against the Red Sox. The Rockies came into the playoffs scorching, but that 8 day layoff really hurt them. I think if the Series had started right away, they could have won 2 games. But, overall, I think the teams from the NL East were better teams who could have played with the Red Sox, if they were playing good baseball at the time (i.e. the Phils in September or the Mets in April)....that said, the Sox were simply the best team in baseball this year, and probably would have beaten any team the NL had to offer, just like they beat every team the AL had to offer. I don't see how the fact that the Red Sox are head and shoulders above everyone else makes the AL a better league, overall though.

it's true .. the american league gets to beat up on the orioles and devil rays etc all year long, fattening up. They have top tier teams and bottom tier teams.

The national league seems much more evenly matched.

That said, the Rockies looked truly outclassed in the World Series, and likely any other National League team would have suffered the same fate.

OK, if the Metsies don't get in next year, how 'bout Dodgers beat the Yanks in 5? :) Revenge would be sweet for Mr. T!!

Proctor must be thrilled. He gets to have his pitching arm shredded by Torre all over again.

And, yeah, I don't understand what there is to fear about Torre or his disciples going over to LA. Torre is not a good strategic manager and he won't have a $200+ million payroll as a crutch to lean on anymore.
