Matt, we wouldn’t need Floyd and Alou to be healthy at the same time, we just would need them to not get hurt at the same time…if that makes any sense.

Depending on how the bench shapes up, I wouldn’t mind having him back. He seemed to connect with Lastings, so just in that regard, he would be a plus. If he’s cheap enough and willing to be a bench guy, I wouldn’t close the door on it.

Assuming he wants a bench job, there are probably worse choices out there.

Spot starter, and LH PH.

Except he would have to replace Anderson on the roster (same function), and I don’t see how you can carry them both.

While we are at it, why not bring back Piazza to platoon with Castro and sign Ricky Henderson to play second base. How about Jesse Orosco in the bull-pen. Shoot a littel HGH into Gooden to march him out to the mound. Maybe bust Stawberry out of jail to platoon with Milledge in RF???? Ah, the good old days.

Uncle Cliffy would have got this team fired up in September. He would have been the one calling out players in the locker room. He certainly would stuck his foot up Reyes’ butt for not hustling……..I too want the team to get younger, but a one year 3 million deal would be nice. It would replace the left handed power off the bench that Green provided at a third of the cost…….

I think Jenkins, if he is interested, would be a nice guy to bring on board. He could play either LF or RF and gives the Mets insurance should they look to trade Milledge for a top flight starter, or if Alou gets injured.

No. Alou should play 100% of the time if possible. Whatever percentage of time he isn’t playing should be filled by guys like Endy Chavez and Marlon Anderson.

My opinion remains the same: Cliffy should platoon with Moises, getting about 40-45% of the playing time.
