As all other Mets fans in the DC area have so aptly said:

The only positive is that it reinforces how truly pathetic this franchise is at this time, not being able to replace one of the worst announcers in baseball. If this is the way they run their franchise, we have little to fear from them either now, or in the distant future…

Compared to Carpenter, Ted Robinson, HARRY KALAS, whoever the D-Backs play by play guy is (not Mark Grace, Grace is good)…..Sterling isnt that bad…

Live in Philly for a couple of months and try to suffer through listening to Harry Kalas and Gary Matthews…then come back to me and compare to Sterling…

OK if you say so – can’t say I recall his specific input on pitch selection, just remember him being a pro. Then again he was typically seated next to Fran Healy, so a circus clown would seem insightful in that chair.

Sterling isn’t that bad? Which part isn’t that bad…misreporting the action? Putting himself above the ball game? The homerish rants when things aren’t going well?

If you watch broadcasts from all over the country….you will realize that Sterling is not that bad at all….

Some people out there are just really, really bad….

As Mets fans..we are COMPLETELY spoiled to have such an objective, funny, knowledgeable crew as Gary, Keith, and Ron….

People in other parts of the country….like Philly…have NO IDEA what a good broadcast is….

One of the bright spots last season was reading that he would not return this year. Now, I feel betrayed. No wonder that team sucks.
The Michael Kay of the National league. But at least Kay’s team wins!!! Yeah, he makes players sound 10 times better than they really are but you can’t argue with 14 straight years of playoff baseball. What the heck does Carpenter have to be excited about?!?! He never questions anything the team or manager does.
Down 10 runs in the 8th, God forbid a Nat hits a double. We’ll never here the end of “anything is possible folks” or “don’t go anywhere fans, it’s not over yet”. A joke!!!
