In a report for ESPN.com, Jerry Crasnick polled 15 general managers, assistants and other assorted personnel at this week’s GM Meetings in Orlando, asking for answers to a variety of hot-stove questions.

According to Crasnick, seven of the 15 people believe the Angels will eventually sign Alex Rodriguez, while three feel he’ll end up on the Mets.

Also, 14 of the 15 people believe the Twins will not trade Johan Santana, while one person thinks he will be traded during the regular season.

Lastly, asked to choose between Bartolo Colon, Josh Fogg, Livan Hernandez, Kyle Lohse, Carlos Silva or Jeff Weaver, four people chose Silva, four chose Lohse, three chose Hernandez and three chose Colon, while nobody selected Weaver or Fogg.

Crasnick also asks for opinions on who is better, Torii Hunter or Andruw Jones, and where will Barry Bonds end up.

Looks like GM’s are saying what many of us have been. Do not focus on things like Johan. Get the little things done. Do not count on ARod he is most likely headed West. If Johan or ARod are able to be aquired at reasonable cost so be it but do not wait around and hope it happens. Fix the team first with the little moves and treat the others as luxuries.

Beane talks about maybe blowing up the A’s depending on injuries.

If Haren would come on the market you have to go for him with a big offer.

Patience is required at this poker game.

Hmm.. The General Managers all seem to agree that Johan is staying put. I feel like the ns are being shut out of om key info…

I’m also wondering why people see the Angels as the potential suitors, when they have stated that they can’t really afford him and they already have Figgins and Cabrera.

I still would take the Dodgers as suitors for both, but we’ll see…
