These polls are so biased to what Cerrone wants for the team. He lists what he thinks would be good ideas and also lists ideas he disaproves of but does so in a sneaky way by including the number of years for the contract. He does this so that option looks bad because the contract looks too long. He also intentionally omits certain options because he doesnt want to see them happen. IE: No David Wright to play 2nd base after we sign ARod. These polls have been a joke.
Also, How is it possible that a larger percentage of you would want to see Octavio "Mr. DL" Dotel signed over a very good reliever in Riske. Dotel should undoubtably be the last choice. But again Matt gives the option of Dotel for 1 year and Riske at 3 years because he has previously posted he would like to see Dotel signed thus swaying the vote.

Getting Blanton and Chad C. would be a nearly impossible feat, all while keeping Pelfrey.

The Brewers have already stated that they will push hard to get Francisco back. It will cost a whole lot to get him for a setup role. Can't Sanchez and Smith be the 8th inning guys?

Milledge & Heilman for Blanton
Sign Kosuke Fukudome for 4 years, $50 million.
Re-sign Lo Duca and Castillo.

With all the teams in the hunt for A-rod, Santana, Lowell, and Cabrera, the Mets have little to no chance of landing any of them.

i dont think anyone forgot that, but i think its more than we all remember he was in a car crash that completely destroyed his pitching shoulder and had serious surgery to repair it while missing 1 1/2 years due to this injury. you can pray all you want for duaner but i doubt he'll be what he was in 06.

I've always been opposed to wasting a draft pick on a Reliever. Linebrink is a class A free agent and hasn't been himself over the last two years. If we are going to lose draft picks (which we always do) i'd rather it for top flight talent.

Yeah, I've been brooding about that lately, thinking about what a huge short- and long-term difference it made to the team. And last year he showed up to camp out of shape and not ready to throw.

If only we had reason to be confident that he can come back after a year and a half and be the pitcher he was before.

Cerrone - this is what I want:

1) move El Duque to the pen
2) pray for Dirty Sanchez to be healthy
3) sign F Cordero or trade for C Cordero to be the 8th inning guy and closer-in-waiting

4) keep Pelfrey as the #5 starter
5) trade for a "Blanton" type starter (I don't think we can get a #1, but a good #2 is more than enough)

We'll have 4 #2 starters in Pedro, Perez, Maine, and Blanton/Willis type guy!
