true. But he is also a better hitter than DW. Not alot better but better. Cabrera is more Manny Ramirez type. Cabrera in a big time lineup with protection would absolutely rake.

Think of a 1 2 3 4 5 6 of
Reyes
Beltran
wright
Cabrera
Delgado
Alou

Maybe Mo and David Wells combined.

I think Cabrera looks at a fatty like Prince Fielder and thinks to himself "that's not fat ... I'll show everyone what a fat slugger REALLY looks like"

Well, actually, Cabrera would be the best hitter on the Mets but .... the guy is a grade A jerk.

He starts fistfights in the dugout, is quite possibly the laziest man in MLB, could be 300 pounds very soon and is an absolute butcher in the field, possibly the worst defensive 3B after, Ryan Braun, in MLB.

While impressive offensively, he's nowhere near David in terms of attitude and hustle. I would bet reasonable money that as soon as he signs a mulit-year/big dollar contract with some team, he will become Mo Vaughn-esque in his dimensions.

I never want Cabrera on my team.

I laugh at anyone who would take a slacker like Cabrera, who visibly takes plays off and gets in public fights (sometimes on the field) with his own teammates... but doesnt want ARod because he is a bad teammate...

Also, if he goes to the dodgers, then they lose their chips for santana. If he goes to the Angels, then Borass looses them in the bargaining room.

Oh, and why would the Mets want Cabrera. I say no thanks to Stay-Puft! Cabrera will eat his way out of the league once he gets paid.

I have no desire to add an atrocious fielded that gives ZERO effort and decides it's more important to start fistfights with his teammates than be a leader.

How about the fact he is basically LoDuca, statistically, except he's only 29, not 36.

There were zero options out there at catcher, barring a trade, so why not just invest some money in a solid catcher that seems to be improving a little bit each season and is deemed to be a good defensive catcher.

The way the Mets lineup is built, there is no need for a big masher like Carter or Piazza, just someone young, that can throw and catch.

I don't what the love affair with LoDuca was. The guy barely hits, never walks, plays below avg defense. The only thing he does is hit singles at a decent rate. Big deal.

If the Angels get Miggy then the list of suitors for A-Rod gets even smaller. Although I would think that would have little to no impact on how much Boras demands for him.

Does anyone think that if the Dodgers landed A-Rod they would then feel easier about unloading some of their younger guys to Minnesota to pull off a Santana trade? Or maybe something with the A's to get one of their big pitchers. They're looking for healthy arms as much as anyone in the league since beyond Penny they didn't have that healthy of a starting rotation (Schmidt, Wolff, Kuo). Billingsley/Kemp/Loney/etc should be enough to get almost any GM on the phone.

If the Angels get Cabrera, how does the ARod market shape up? LA Dodgers, Boston, SF, Detroit?
