as a Mets fan, this worries me, because i fear we, as fans, are going to have a lot of unrealistic options dangled in front of us during the Hot Stove season, and when no such mega-deal is made, we’ll end up being disappointed - even though the desired deals were never actually a possibility in the first place

NOT ACCEPTABLE.

This team collapsed, this team is mentally weak, this team is old, this team STINKS and there's no help on the farm anytime soon.

So Omar better find somebody, or find a new job

Why not trade Beltran for someone who can help win now and later, e.g. Cain, and then sign Andruw or Torri?

Mark my word. The biggest moves made this offseasaon will be the moves not made. And the best moves Omar can make are not making moves.

It simply isn't that time.

It doesn't. Teams aren't willing to trade their bonafide aces, and if they are, there are other teams with more to trade than the Mets. You can't blame that on Omar.

Ok, I'll tell you. We aren't.

We lost because our pitchers couldn't get anyone out. Adding Arod doesn't help that.

Did Arod help Texas become a better team? The Yankees? There is much more proof that Arod doesn't make his teams better than proof that he does. Until you can prove otherwise, I am 100% anti-Arod.

I tend to agree, but it's gonna hurt, if Omar does very little to improve this team.

Going into Citi, the Mets are going to have 61M to play with, after losing Delgado, Pedro, El Duque, Mota, and Alou, and gaining 20M from Citicorp.

I'd like to see the team bite the bullet, up the payroll, and get Shea rocking one last time.

no way, the guys giving you something to talk about, i know i'm about to admit to one of the biggest sins as a mets fan, but there was a time when i couldn't even bare to watch the mets.

NOW........ they're the big dogs, even when we lose a game, it's not because the other team always does that great, it's beacuse WE don't step up....

Minaya has done agreat job, he creates money, popularity (for god sakes we're all on a blog talking bout this stuff), a great core, and I feel he's gonna work on the farm system next (see the african & caribean projects he's workin on), & u can't diss all the trades he made.

THESE ARE THE NEW YORK METS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THESE ARE OUR NEW YORK METS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YES we're going to resemble the evil empire a lil bit, but who the hell cares we going to build revenue, let's use it.

& who can we thank for this.............

Yes, exactly, Omar Minaya
