Yes, of course. But I’m thinking that since Eckstein is such a hardnosed, gritty, get-yer-uniform-dirty type of player that his rings might have grit and dirt on them. Dirty, gritty rings are less shiny and therefore less able to inspire other players to magically play better.

Iguchi or Izturis on a cheaper 2 year deal is way more preferable than Castillo or Eckstein on a 4 year deal…..

I’d much rather sign Iguchi then give Castillo or Eckstein 4 years. One has bad knees and the other missed 80 games the last 2 years.

I think he was implicating the entire season….

He was a decent backup on the Phillies, and a platoon this year for Iguchi to hit against righties would definitely be nice, but because I love Luis, I’d let the Astros take command. No doubt the Astros have the motive to offer Iguchi a substantial amount of money, and only the ‘Stros and Pads have full starting positions to offer.

New York state tax officials want Derek Jeter to pay hundreds of thousands — possibly even millions of dollars — in back taxes and interest for the years 2001 to 2003, when he claimed Florida residency despite spending the bulk of his time in New York.

An administrative judge’s ruling shows that Jeter has claimed Florida residency since 1994. New York state isn’t going back that far, but it does want it’s cut from Jeter’s check from after be bought a $13 million apartment in Manhattan. Jeter made $34 million in salary from 2001 through 2003 and likely millions more in endorsements.

No, he hit .304 with 3 home runs with the Phillies. .442 SLG. One of the more obvious better choices than Eckstein.
