he probably has more value than you think. It seems that young pitching is a hot commodity, so I imagine plenty of teams would be happy to grab some more.

If he really isn't going to bring much of value back, it makes no sense to trade him, since the Mets don't have that much pitching depth.

Either keep him developing in AAA, waiting until they need him (or for a later trade), or use him out of the Pen where he could really help. Has to be a better option than Sele!

If Humbers value is low then why give him away for an ok catcher? I like him alot and think he is going to be better than people think so I would rather keep him.

shoppach might not be ready to be an everyday catcher but were not asking that from him. he'll be splitting time with castro for the next 2 years, and after thatm we'll be able to evaluate if hes an everyday player or not.
cliff lee is 2 years removed from an outstanding year.
hes under 30 years old and a lefty, who had a couple of successful seasons in the past (he's an a little older version of oliver perez) but perez has the ceiling to be an ace, lee has the ceiling for a very solid #2.
we also get a stud reliever who had an under 2 era in the american league and had a lot of strikeouts.
it will keep us from signing a reliever for 3 years and 12 million and maybe the guy turns out to be our closer after wagner.

Humber's value is slim to none, and I really would love to keep Mulvey. I understand Johjima is good, but I really wouldn't mind just signing a 2 or 3 year guy and wait for our two young catching prospects.

Johjima hit .287 last year in 135 games.
He had 139 hits with 14 HomeRuns.
On many teams he really isn't a number 8 hitter.

Defensively, he threw out 39% of runners, very above average.

Because of Jeff Clement, the Mariners BIG TIME MLB ready prospect, the Mariners could be looking to move Johjima who will be a free agent next year.

I believe he can be had, at a reasonable deal
Perhaps Humber, Mulvey, plus
