Glavines a decent pitcher, he gave the mets a bunch of innings this year and put up a subpar ERA. At this point in his career he’s not worth the 12+ million a year that comes along with getting him for a season. The Mets need to start throwing some of their young guns even if they go through some tough times aka Pelfrey/Humber.

Just our luck, He throws a shut out and Willie ends up getting fired. Beltran gets called out looking with the bases loaded in the ninth. Now that’s a Willie finish I don’t want to see.

Chili… the goodwill agreement was made for last year when the mets wanted him back. In the end, they provided the courtesy to him and he chose to return to us (bc the braves made no offer).

Now, any deal for last year is off the table. While no one has confirmed it from the METs side, there has not once been any speculation that they will not offer the arbitration tag.

Especially given the sparcity of both a strong farm system and limited free agent options on pitching, the Mets are certain to offer the tag.

Under the worse conditions, he comes back to us and accepts arbitration. Under expected conditions, the Braves think he is a difference maker regardless for them and sign him knowing the pick is going back to us.

This is a lock my friend… Mets get the 18th pick in the draft and our own 22nd as we are not getting any FA that would steal that pick this year.
