he just wanted money. when he got it, he cried about missing his family. he hinted at going back last year then came back here when they rebuffed him. glavine was a bum before he came here, a bum while he stayed here, and will be a bum in Atlanta this year. I don't wish bums the best

I guess the only thing I could add was after the catastrophic last date, did the ex-girlfriend announce to all of your friends that the relationshisp was never a big deal and she wasn't the least bit upset about the break up? LOL !!!

He played us like a flute. He used us as to get a contract from the Braves and when they did not give it to him he signed with the Mets. Then we hear that he thought he made a mistake and he wanted to go back with the Braves. Then he turns down his option in 06 and waits for the Braves and, reluctantly comes back to the Mets now he does the same thing again in 07. He is a bum and hes done. He cries like a baby and is married to the Braves. I have never heard any other ball player cry as much about family as he does. All players move around from team to team, thats the life of a ball player. Why does he think hes so special? He will go down in Mets history as a big zero. He will always be remembered as the pitcher that blew the biggest games of 2007 in the first inning. He has become another trivia question answer, thats all. He will be remembered with Benitez and Vaughn in the same breath. He has a loosing record in the first 3 years here and when he started to get a winning record he ran back to the Braves. SO LONG TOM. We will see you at Shea in 2008 and we will all remind you of your time in NY and it will be loud. This guy will hear the BOO BIRDS like Barry Bonds.

What? Bad analogy on your part. David Cone played for mutliple teams over his career, as did Clemens. Tom Glavine has ONLY played for the Braves and the Mets.

After pitching the most disastrous, gutless, un-clutch start in Mets franchise history - not to mention his ERA in the stretch drive last 3 starts at something like 12 - , I pray that Tommy signs a deal with the Braves today and is gone from this ballclub forever.

he was never a met, and he left as the ultimate Mr. Choke. Great legacy.

Buh bye tommy.

so here is the thing. i went to spring training the year we signed him. i was 16 at the time. i got a lot of autographs that year. but the one person who did not have time to sign was glavine. he told me he would be right back after icing his arm. he is a JOKE. i went to opening day where the mets lost by like 15 and he was pitching. it was cold and raining. i never liked him. hated watching him in orange and blue.

Matthew, thank you for sharing that poignant personal story of yours. Yes, it is a good analogy and I can see how you might have been, somewhere in the back of your mind, thinking of this ex-girlfriend sometimes as the "Glavine saga" emerged. One side of me gets sick thinking about Glavine and also the business side of baseball. The other aspect is that certainly I and others, as Met fans, were so happy when Tom Seaver finally came back to us. OK, the other teams Seaver played for were hardly rivals of ours on the level of the Braves, but otherwise, I'll just look at it that way. Good riddance to Tom Glavine, who could never hold Tom Seaver's jock as far as a pitcher or as far as class in my opinion.
