This is good news because he would have been a very good fit in Philadelphia. Too bad for them.

incredible. epstein can get a very good 33 year old third basemen coming off a career year in which he helps his team win a world series to sign a three year deal, and omar can’t get an old broken down second basemen with no power to settle for less than four.

i hope the guy that said ‘the red sox win inspite of theo’ is paying attention. THIS is how you run a team. you maintain enough options and talent so you don’t force yourself to overpay in money or years for players all the time like the mets do. this organization has such a long way to go; it’s really depressing.

and also, give credit to lowell. he probably could’ve gotten 5yrs/12mil a year from a stupid team. easily 4yrs/13mil. thank god the mets didn’t need a third basemen or omar would’ve given him a beltran contract.
