He was a toss in with the sox with Beckett. You want Beckett...you take this scrub lowell and his fat contract. But to the sox and Lowells credit, he got playing time and he made the most of it reclaiming a career that was literally over. Frankly, he owed it to the Sox for giving him a chance to play on that team to take less to come back. It was a pretty unique circumstance. Can you think of one like it with the METS?
