omar a genius ??!!! what the hell … we have 3 catchers and no starting pitcher in the rotation ….hmmmmm???? thats a real genius after saying that the rotation and the bullpen are going to be top priority this offs season he has not done much for the rotation or bullpen now has he now you have 2 catchers who are average and a less than average catcher and noooooooooooooo dammmmmmmmmm armmmmmmmmmmss if we are not getting pitchers what the hell are we doing… ok grant we had to fill up some gaps in second and at catcher we got our second basemen and i think i can only think we have enough catchers this year so whats going on with two starters… give me a big time ace in the 1 spot and give me a guy like silva or blanton in the second spot i think it time for us to give up some big prospects for santana and give up some big cash for harden or blanton

Estrada’s OPS was worse than Lo Duca’s.

Geez.

I’m hoping that his injury had something to do with that.

For those of you who won’t follow the link, here’s the relevant excerpt:

“I was shocked to see there was in fact, a catcher even less valuable than LoDuca this year. Then I was even more surprised to learn there was yet ANOTHER catcher worse. The former would be Mr. Estrada, who is the first on our list to post a sub .300 OBP. Milwaukee isn’t the greatest hitter’s park, but it’s better than Shea Stadium, and that walk rate would be inexcusable at Coors Field anyway. Estrada is another catcher not known for his defense and was also, like Lo Duca, part of a team that fell apart miserably down the stretch and failed to make the playoffs.

Why he got 442 AB, (Lo Duca had 445) I have no idea. Don’t Ned Yost and Willie Randolph realize that mediocre defensive catchers who can’t get on base are not very valuable at all?”

I love this trade… yeah Estrada is no Russ Martin but getting rid of Mota and landing a switch hitting catcher like Estrada without tapping the piggy bank AWESOME smart trade

It doesnt take much to make you guys happy. Im glad he got rid of Mota but we would have been betterr off if he re-signed LoDuca or signed Barrett and just dumped Mota.
