Blog: Pagliarulo on Scott Linebrink
By Matthew Cerrone - Nov 21, 2007 9:27 pm

According to Mark Feinsand in the Daily News, the Yankees are interested in free-agent RHP Scott Linebrink.

In a recent post to Dugout Central, Mike Pagliarulo advises the Yankees to steer clear of Linebrink, whose stats indicate a ‘structural decline.’

According to Pagliarulo…

“Most likely, someone will pick up Linebrink for three years and $15M.  That’s too much for someone who may be in decline.”

Pagliarulo spent just over five years playing third base for the the Yankees, before moving on to the Padres, O’s and Twins, among others.  He now runs an independent scouting service, and has created Dugout Central, a blog “where fans and scouts come together to discuss our national pastime.”

Mike Pagliarulo is so odd. If you read his stuff, half of it makes no sense and he has graphs & charts that are just illogical. He tries to forecast the future using the past too much then offsets it by trying to make a SWAG (Scientific Wild Ass Guess) to figure out how much someone should be paid.

It’s like taking advice from Mackey Sasser.

Mike Pagliarulo was a punching bag for the guys at firejoemorgan, but I think they got tired of hitting such an easy target.
