However, the shape and construction of the new park will determine how that wind affects the field of play. Shea, as you know if you've ever been to a game in mid-April, is completely open to the wind -- the stadium itself provides almost no barrier to the sometimes gale-forces whipping off Flushing Bay. This is why righty pull hitters are usually at a disadvantage here. I'm hoping the construction of CitiField is more in the style of the new "cozy" parks, and provides fans some protection from the elements.
