Watch: Reyes’ Reggaeton Cameo
By Regis Courtemanche - Nov 24, 2007 11:25 am

Jose Reyes appears in a video for the song Pa La Tumba alongside Melky Cabrera, and Robinson Cano.

[youtube PumCTyofJbI nolink]

…it’s a bit risque, but reyes is prominently featured starting at around the 2:45 mark…he looks like he’s having much more fun in this video than he did at the end of the season…

…hat tip to alex for the info…

I hope he’s not saying ‘bend ya knees’ in spanish

  2. imagine the contoversy if it was milledge…
    oh wait….

  3. Militant Metsfan says:

Jose Reyes doesn’t seem to be prominently featured in this video. At least he’s not sulking down there in the D.R. We need him back at 100%.

Jimmy Rollins somehow jacked the year Jose was supposed to have and had it himself. I’m looking for Jose to become the Mets first MVP.

  4. me2007 says:

    Risque?! More like disgusting…exploitive…degrading!

I’ll never understand why some “men” feel the need to portray women like this. I’ll never understand why some “women” feel the need to exploit themselves in such a degrading way.

    Yuck, yuck, yuck!!

All of them (Reyes included) need to go out and read a damn book.

    • me2007 says:

And why you decided to post this on your site is beyond me.

    • mrose says:

      wow dude…relax a bit..
its a video…and you know what..thats how those woman want to be…are you with one like that? If not, don’t worry about it…

Not everyone holds your views. I’m not saying I agree with it, but i’m not gonna act like its the worst thing in the world.

And also, I find the video not to be risque, but..a video…if Reyes were making out and dry humpin some chick..it’d be risque, but for Reyes’ part, he did a cameo….he was dancing in a chair…

Come back to normal Jose!!! I can’t wait to see him run around the bases again in April!

      • me2007 says:

Well, first of all, I’m a girl (a straight girl), so no, I’m not “with” a girl like that.

I never said that “everyone holds” my views. I’m simply stating my views.

And I’m not acting like it’s “the worst thing in the world,” but I do have an opinion on it, mainly: it says a lot about people who would be in those videos/watch them/not care about what it does to society and our society’s young girls (including Jose Reyes, even though you so eloquently pointed out that it’s not like he’s “dry humpin some chick”).

I never said that the women in the video didn’t want to be “that way” (whatever “that way” is…), what I did say was that I’ll never understand why some “women” want to degrade themselves as those women are doing.

        • PsychosomaticNInsane says:

once they sign the dotted line, they decided it was okay to profit off their bodies. you don’t like it, fine. go out and teach your niece, daughter, sister, etc about respecting their bodies. spouting off on a site that is predominantly male will get you nowhere. you’re wasting your time.

the video is harmless. standard fare rap video. nothing more, nothing less. where are the roots when you need them. “what they do” best hip hop video ever.

        • christian warrior says:

I won’t be getting up on a soapbox like some others here, but I will say that having the best hip-hop video ever really isn’t saying all that much.

        • me2007 says:

“once they sign the dotted line, they decided it was okay to profit off their bodies”

Umm, once again, I’m not saying they shouldn’t have the so-called “choice” to degrade themselves, I’m just expressing my opinion about the effect that such exploitation has on our society.

“go out and teach your niece, daughter, sister,”

How do you know I’m not?

“spouting off on a site that is predominantly male will get you nowhere.”

LOL. Are you saying that men can’t have intelligent conversations about the exploitation of women?

          “you’re wasting your time.”

Yeah, come to think of it, so was Susan B. Anthony. She really should have just shut up, you know? Total waste of time. She should have stayed at home and told all her woman friends what she thought, instead of even trying to deal with the “predominantly male” society out there. What was she thinking??

  5. Benny Blanco from da Bronx says:

I’ll never understand why some “men” feel the need to portray women like this.

    Because it sells.

’ll never understand why some “women” feel the need to exploit themselves in such a degrading way.

Because it makes them good money.

Whatever, who cares, its thier choice. There are much more degrading things going on in this world like… Reality TV, the circus, and any form of a beauty contest.

    • seanavery says:

Looks like he is having fun…good for him. Enough said.

    • me2007 says:

You’re right, there are so many degrading things going on in the world…let’s just add to the pile of sleaze!!!

      • seanavery says:

yeah this video is bring down the world…thats gonna solve it

        • me2007 says:

“yeah this video is bring down the world”

I think what you meant was “yeah, this video is going to bring down the world,” which I really don’t remember saying at all. Hmm…

What I did say, however, was that as (hopefully) intelligent human beings, we should make better choices about how we live and what we stand for. And yes, speak out about what we believe. A lot of this comes from reading books.

For you, I recommend “The Elements of Style,” by William Strunk and E.B. White. Enjoy!

  6. 7-train says:

The girls in that video are smoking hot!

They need to share those sexy bodies. No more derogatory than the Greek statues at the Met.

    • me2007 says:

Well, the difference between that is a large portion of Greek statues are naked men, to go along with the naked women…

    • christian warrior says:

Statues at the museum carved out of marble and stone 2000 years ago by Greek artists…

A gaggle of Dominican women shaking their asses while half naked to bad music for money…

      Oh, sure…I get the correlation.

      • 7-train says:

        Good, so we’re in agreement.

Turn the volume off and you may find the video more enjoyable.

        • christian warrior says:

          Whew.

After all these years of reading your intelligent posts I thought I had lost you there for a second! :)

  7. christian warrior says:

The first thought I had when I watched this is it doesn’t matter if I can understand a word of what he is saying or not, bad music is bad music no matter what language you sing it in. And even though the women were hot, they didn’t help the situation all that much.

How many different outfits did that guy do that same ridiculous dance in?

Why was Jose Reyes dressed as a clown?

  8. christian warrior says:

Isn’t Ivan Calderon dead? Shot in the head like six times in a bar by the Dominican Mafia?

This song was so damn good that it brought Ivan Calderon back from the dead so that he could do that stupid dance that the guy singing was doing in every other frame.

If Ivan Calderon thought enough of this track to come back from the dead and kick it wit hiz homeez then I’m down.

    • breadclock says:

I remember being in the Yankee Stadium bleachers one night. The White Sox were in town and they were giving it to Ivan Calderon hard in the outfield. Brutal profanity that would make Redd Foxx blush. To his credit he kept a smile on and took it well.

Speaking of brutal, I can’t believe I sat through the whole vid to catch the “prominently featured” Reyes. Glad I didn’t blink.

  9. a says:

    Prominently featured? Really?

That was like two seconds of Jose. Not worth my mom walking in on me watching it and now probably thinking I’m a lesbian.

  10. chan_zan_2008 says:

jose better think about baseball and not night clubs and danceing. i believe that him hanging in night clubs and partying all the time has someting to do with how he perform on the baseball field at the end of this pass season. he better grow up and learn how to put things in order… or eles hes going to find out how fast the fans can turn on him…. and thats nothing to dance about…………..

    • jose--jose-jose-jose says:

Get over it dude, all of these guys are out now enjoying themselves and their time off. I promise you that they are all upset about how the season ended, but if you think that they should be sulking 24/7 or getting up at 3am to take some extra BP every morning, then you are crazy.

Reyes’ alleged partying is all fake, and its a way for fans to place blame on something that he intentionally did which made him slump, instead of just looking at this slump, and accepting that is is a part of the game. Remember in April when Wright, didn’t hit a single home run, and knocked in just like 10 runs or something like that? If you do, you should also remember that everyone was saying that the “stardom is getting to his head” and that he is “partying too much” and that he’s “believing all of the hype.” Then he starting hitting, and he broke out of his slump, and all of those rumors about the partying and all of the people that said he was doing too many photo shoots just shut up.
Amazing how that worked out, huh?

Reyes is fine. He sucked at the end of last year, but you know what, that happens some times. It was not Luis Castillo’s “bad influance,” or the “partying,” and its not too much Corona that made him slump. Slumps happen, and people just have to deal with that, instead of making up rumors as they try to search for answers.

  11. chan_zan_2008 says:

I agree all players have slumps. But you can see the diffrents between Reyes and David., i mean im sure both of them party and i understand that.. Both are young and enjoying the fruit of there labour. But i see the diffences between Jose and David.1 David is much more mature then Jose and seems to me that Joses mind wonders during some ball games.Like hes not thinking on the baseball field.2 Jose has too many lapsus on the ball feild. That tells me hes mind is not where it should be. when hes on the ball field….Could be family problems.could be that he partys too much who really knows.? All i hope for is he gets more mature and blance his life style off the field better. We need him to be the best he can be.Another thing i picked up on was his timeing plays was off to. Wasn”t as bad in the begining of the season. But near the end of the season it got wrost. That tells me someting is going on off the field. Just like us at work If we have problems sometimes are minds are not on are jobs. Hope Wille has a sit down with him and helps him to get his mindset right when it comes to playing the game of baseball…We need him to be the best he can be………..

  12. professor met says:

Because you don’t like it’s crap?

Being a baseball player is clearly a good time.

  13. dk70 says:

Tell me Reyes is not the King of the Carribean??? He, like Mr. Wright in NYC, must be beating the women off with a stick. Nice problem to have, huh???? Probably even makes Jeter envious.

  14. thekid024 says:

Not my type of music but I liked it. Reyes was in it quite a bit.

  15. christian warrior says:

Nope. The reason it is crap is pretty evident.

  16. christian warrior says:

    lmao

I find everything you just typed to be completely assinine, but it still made me laugh when I read it.

  17. mr_met says:

because it doesnt feature mr met. nor cowbell man.
