The people of chicago really care about that guy and genuinely want to see him succeed. The first game he was back was against the mets at wrigley during that weekend series and the people were going nuts when he took the field. It's a nice story, but I don't think he's worth the risk at anything more than $4M.

It's all about loyalty to Woods. He said before the start of last year that he was coming back to the Cubs because he felt he owed the Cubs and their fans for all their loyalty towards him, through the injuries and everything. And I mean, he's a decent arm to look at in the bullpen, late innings. A one year flier on him is a good deal.

1 year for Wood is not a bad deal. I wonder why he took it? I mean, he could have gotten 2 years.

Loyalty? or maybe they guaranteed him the closer's role?

Prob not.....it's the whole getting attached to your prospects. Why are so many people here crazy over Octavio Dotel???? Hes over 30 and his arm is waiting to fall off........but people remember 99.....

To the folks in Chicago...the days of 18-19-20 strikeouts from Wood seem like only yesterday.

Man, some teams just get hung up on guys that are already on the team. Would they have even looked at him if he had spent the last 8 years on another team?
