By Matthew Cerrone - Nov 26, 2007 3:22 pm

According to MLB.com’s postseason share-system, each player on the Mets will earn an additional $9,411 for finishing in second place this past season, assuming he is awarded a full share.

The Phillies will earn $28,058 per share for finishing in first, though they lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Rockies, who will earn $233,505 per share for getting to the World Series.

Nice to see Rox give Coolbaugh’s family a full share.

I still have so much respect for the Rockies that they didn’t forget Mike Coolbaugh’s family and a lot of those guys aren’t making the big bucks yet.

Carlos Delgado doesn’t deserve his $10,000.

They should give it to Freddy Coupons..so he can put it towards signing Santana’s extension when we trade for him……NOT!!

I’d love to be a fly on the wall during the team meeting dividing the pie.

Curious to see what Julio Franco got.

Didn’t George Foster in ‘86 get voted a miniscule share despite playing for more than half the year.

Any Met who actually cashes that bonus check should be ashamed of themselves. I’m sure they all will, however.

Seriously, they should all be donating that check to a charity….after all, it is the Christmas season and they surely didn’t earn that check.

Nice tidbit of info, Cerrone. I like it.

Take the month off, earn an additional 9K…..nice to be a bunch of overpaid choking losers.

Or they could join the Rockies and give it to Coolbaugh’s family. I knew the second the Rockies said at the beginning of the playoffs that they were going to go far once they said they were all giving the full share to the Coolbaugh family. It’s called karma and the Mets could use as much good karma as we can get.

Of course it will probably be spent on a few bar tabs for Reyes, LoDuca’s babysitter’s high school graduation present, and some new recording equipment for rap superstar L-Millz.
