…this is great…i enjoy hearing stories like this……of course, when i hear or see mo, i think of two stories…
…1) while taking pitching lessons as a teenager from a former Red Sox pitcher, i three to vaughn in a batting cage, who had just debuted with the sox a few months earlier…the guy hit the ball back at me so hard that i still have nightmares about it…B) in his final season with the Mets, vaughn hit the most powerful home run i have ever seen, which landed nearly half-way up the scoreboard at shea…for a brief moment, i actually thought it was going to clear it, as crazy as that may seem…it was unreal…and while this does not release him from his overall poor performance while wearing the team’s uniform, oddly enough, to his credit, the home run is my lasting memory of him, which is sort of nice…
