THE GUY IS 22 YEARS OLD!!! That aren't very many plus breaking ball hitters at 22. Have Met fans not seen how far a guy like Jose Reyes has improved from one year to the next on pitch recognition and the ability to hit breaking balls. I mean even as bad as Lastings was last year against the slow stuff he was STILL 10x better than Gomez, and unlike the guy Omar is infatuated with, Lastings can actually hit the hard stuff. Productive OFs are easy to come. A defensive minded catcher who works well with pitchers and already has a relationship with your franchise player (Wright) is an ideal fit. As for Church, he's a good platoon player but I'm sure he'll be a solid addition but if he goes in a package for Haren, so be it. PS: These guys are white!!!!
