Agreed, though the ERA might be ambitious.

I expect Livan to be a Met next year. After what the Jacket did for El Duque, I don't think it's a bad idea. Livan has shown that given a reason, he can pitch in big games and is a very competitive guy. I see no reason why he can't resurrect his career under the right circumstances alla Kenny Rogers.

I actually don't have a problem with Livan. I'd welcome him but for the terms you describe above. 2 years 15-16 millish is fine. Anything beyond that is too much.

He'd provide the Mets with some innings. I think he'd go something like 14-10 with 225IP and a 4.00 ERA. I can live with that.

It would be nicer if the Mets could add someone like Haren though with a Livan Hernandez. Then you have an ace and some real depth in the rotation.

Livan could be a good signing if they could get him with something along the lines of a 2 year/15 mill deal. Anything more than that wouldn't be great value

This is quite amusing actually. As if we didn't know the Mets were going to be the "B Listers" again.

They're always going to play 2nd banana to the big boys.

that makes no sense, how could a team who signs Livan surrender a supplemental 1st round pick? It's not like supplemental picks normally exist, its not like every team has one, so how could any team who signed him surrender one? The D'backs will get a supplemental pick, but teams don't have to give them up in order to sign him, that doesn't make any sense.

Gee, I've been telling you all along that this was a typical Mets bait and switch- tell their fans they're looking to import A-list talent, and then wind up rooting around in the dumpster instead.

Yeah, Chacon is what is needed after the collapse!

With Schneider around, I expect him to win an ERA title

sloppy work on the arbitration info... its not right...

Chacon 'could start or relieve' for the Mets? If thats the case its worse than I thought. Who actually wants Chacon starting ahead of Pelfrey or Duque or even Humber or Sosa?
