Same website now says:

"UPDATE: The report that suggested Erik Bedard is on his way to the Mets is "false," according to one executive with the Mets. However, talks are ongoing."

I would prefer to send GOmez over CHurch actually, assuming the pieces were tweaked appropriately.

At least with CHurch they have a rF for 2008+. Gomez will be totally overmatched.

The big danger with unloading for 1 SP is opening up holes elsewhere that come back to bite you in the butt.

Humber, Heilman, Gomez only really hurts the pen, and that is the esiest place to dig up or mix and match soem live bodies.

False rumor, eh?

I wonder if it "false" because the original report was Humber, Heilman, Church, and a PNL for Bedard

while

Kurk's report was Heilman, Gomez, Humber and Mulvey for Bedard and a PNL.

Or maybe it is legitimately false. Or maybe they're negotiating, as suggested by the update on the original report. O rmaybe I need to give up for the night, pour a scotch, and tie a fly.

I almost never see a realisic rade proposal on this site, but I love this one. I can' t figure out which team is getting the short end of the stick on this trade. That is a pretty good sign that you did a good job putting it together.

The only reason that a relief pitcher "chokes" in "clutch" situations, is because they blow a lead or give up a lead.

Had they not done so and kept their team in the game or with the lead, then that game would be another forgotten successful performance.

Heilman gave up eight homers last season, certainly not as many as most imply he gave up.
